as the only child of gilderoy lockhart, danielle grew up surrounded by fame and fortune. when danielle was eight, gilderoy was exposed for being a fraud. and she was heartbroken. her dad had always been her hero- she always looked forward to his stories and his great valor. wanting to be rid of anything that reminded her of him, she stopped introducing herself using her last name and instead used her middle name in place of it- danielle felicity. it wasn't until she got her hogwarts letter and came to hogwarts that she finally started to use it again. at hogwarts, she found and made friends who didn't care what her last name was, didn't care who she was related to. while there was still the occasional jab, or someone asking how her father was doing, danielle never let it get to her. she had never felt more at home than when she was at hogwarts. she graduated top of her class, with strengths in dada and herbology, thanks to her determination to show that she was more than her last name.
